Tour Overview

It’s very rare that all the hoped-for components of a holiday come together at the same time. This time they did.

The weather. Apart from a very few blips, it was sunny and hot, seriously hot, ranging from mornings around 20ºC to afternoons in the 30’s, once climbing to 37ºC. Trips up very tall mountains, across and around beautiful lakes, visiting pavement cafés and an air-conditioned coach kept the excursions cool enough.

The excursions were “cool”. Instead of going out for the day to visit a single “place of interest”, most stopped at a location, moved on to a train, boat or cable-car, followed by another stop or a look around the arrival town. We were always “on the go” but never feeling rushed - always just the right amount of time to enjoy the location, not becoming bored or tired, glancing at your watch hoping it’s time to go.

Our coach crew, Lisa & Paul, were outstanding. Always available, always relaxed and friendly, always well organised and had the flexibility to take weather and location into account, making every journey part of the holiday, not a bus ride from A to B.

The hotels en route were what you’d expect - serviceable, but the resort hotel in Neiderau was outstanding. Large rooms, friendly yet efficient staff, breakfasts and dinners not simply meals but the delicious, well presented, dining you’d hope to receive if you chosen the restaurant on Tripadvisor.

We enjoyed one of, if not, the best Leger holidays we’ve taken to date.
