A much better day, today. We left at 09:30 to return at 16:30, travelling just 113 miles to visit the home of the famous Bull Running which takes place in July.
The weather was again overcast, but there were lots of sunny intervals during our time in the city.
Pamplona is a very pleasant place to visit. Lots of parks and gardens (one with a lift to move between levels), a bull ring, a large castle, a fortress on the outskirts and the obligatory Cathedral (free admission!!!).
The shopping streets are traffic free and there’s a large market hall worth exploring. We found a quirky café for our regular pit-stop.
Near the underground bus park, there is a massive fortress set in and around parks and gardens which we spent a long time exploring.
This was exactly what an excursion should be. Not too much travel time, places of interest to visit and sensible departure and arrival times.
Dinner was once again excellent.
