When we set off for Achensee it was pouring down with rain. To be honest, a change is as good as a rest. It actually felt nice to feel at little bit chilly. We arrived in Pertisau am Achensee just before 12 noon with time for a stroll around. Still raining, more lightly, our proper raincoats came down from the overhead rack; so glad we’d brought them. 

The town was almost deserted. Was it full churches for morning mass, or that Austrians dissolve in rain? We found another lakeside café, spending an hour to enjoy a light lunch for Margaret of warm apfel strudel, with ice cream AND cream. I stuck to beer. Despite the now very light rain, the views and scenery were lovely.

The rain stopped in time for our lake cruise, so we sat outside on a modern ship, once again enjoying a slightly chilly breeze.

Yet another day of scenery overdose.
