The ferry docked late and took forever to unload. It entered port at 08:45, docked at 09:15 and the coach was disembarked just after 10:30.

The 438 mile, 10 hour trek across Italy and France was not that exciting, except that a trip through the Alps reveals some of the most beautiful scenery. We stopped after a 20 minute, €380 (toll) drive through the Mont Blanc tunnel for a coffee and photo-stop.

We didn’t get to the hotel until 20:30, another very serviceable Novotel in Maçon for a late dinner (edible) and off to bed.
