‍Yet another terrace breakfast before a civilised departure for Cannes at 10:00. About an hour’s drive.

‍We took a Noddy train ride around Cannes, which proved to be much as we’d remembered - pretentious home to designer fashion outlets and trendy shops. The Noddy commentary confirmed this, revealing Cannes’ obsession with film stars and the other rich and wannabe famous. As we passed almost every hotel the commentary revealed the list of those who had stayed there. Fascinating!!??

‍Noddy visited the “old town” which was far more interesting - more Provençal - but it would have been difficult to return later; high on a hill, a fair way from the centre. C’est la vie!

‍We spent a good amount of time in cafés expecting to watch “the beautiful” stroll past. The majority weren’t vaguely beautiful! The yacht people probably had stayed on their yachts, emerging as the sun set when we, the day-trippers, had left.

‍Once again, considerate, sensible timing saw us away at 14:30, arriving back at the hotel an hour later. Timings on excursions continues to be a big ✅ on this tour.

‍From what’s been said, you’d may be surprised that we really enjoyed the day, sun & sights and relaxing in cafés.
