With the weather still a little overcast and showery, we stayed on board during the morning and went ashore after lunch when it had brightened up just a little bit.

A shuttle boat was available to and from town, clearly because the route on foot would have taken you through a dilapidated area of abandoned warehouses. Chioggia turned out to be a totally unremarkable place, pleasant enough to stroll around for some fresh air, but little else.

Time on board to relax, eat far too much good food and that’s just fine by us.
